User Reviews

Players largely enjoy FreeCell for its relaxing pace, daily challenges, and card customization, ranking it as a strong FreeCell option. Recurrent negatives include internet-dependent Daily Challenges, intrusive ads even in paid versions, updated UI/navigation that complicates use, Game Center/achievements syncing issues, and unclear progress scoring. Addressing connectivity reliability, UX consistency, and clear achievement metrics would improve the experience.
Pros
  • Relaxing and enjoyable gameplay that’s good for passing time, with a calm pace and no timers.
  • Daily Challenges are a popular, engaging feature that players look forward to.
  • Card customization options (front/back of cards and background) enhance personalization.
  • Overall feel/quality; many players consider it a standout FreeCell experience compared to other apps.
Cons
  • Daily Challenges require internet access, causing issues when connectivity is poor or unavailable.
  • Ads and monetization frustrations, including ads in the paid version and disruptive promos (e.g., persistent ads).
  • UI/UX/navigation changes introduced by updates create frustration (landscape layout issues, new task bar, Dynamic Island clipping, extra animations).
  • Game Center prompts and achievements not updating or syncing properly.
  • Progress tracking and scoring can be unclear or inconsistently credited.

I loved this particular app, but on iOS 26 it just crashes and won’t start anymore. I’d hate to lose all my progress. I hope they can patch this.

Fun to play but very addictive and relaxing!
by Ro*****, 2026-01-25

This is ok but it’s not fun in that if a building card can play, like an ace etc, the game forces you to notice rather than automatically zing it to the desired location. This forces me to assess each card all the time to be sure nothing is missed. There are other points I’m not fond of but this is the main problem. I find this stressful rather than relaxing. My usual freecell game functions differently and gives me more options on how I want to play. Unfortunately it is no longer available.
