I’ve been using iTunes Remote for years to control the Music app on my Mac, which feeds a dedicated DAC and Yamaha stereo amplifier. For that setup, this app is indispensable. Instead of walking back to the computer every time I want to change an album, adjust the queue, or search my library, I can do it all from my listening chair. What I appreciate most is that Apple has kept this app simple. It isn’t overloaded with unnecessary features—it just reliably controls my Mac-based music library from anywhere in the house. For anyone who uses a Mac as the heart of a system, iTunes Remote remains one of Apple’s most underrated apps. Five stars. I just hope Apple continues to support it for many years to come.

Remote is fine- does what you need. Controls iTunes libraries as well as Apple TV. Please develop a widget for the lock screen. Like any remote, quickness of access is key. It's a little to clunky to unlock the phone and search for the app. (update 12/2026: it’s the exact same)
