User Reviews

Users generally praise the Philips Home Access lock hardware and basic app functionality, noting solid build quality and good value. However, repeated issues dominate user feedback: frequent sign-in/log-in resets, flaky PIN/code management, and intermittent connectivity between the app and the lock. Biometric login (Face ID), password manager integration, and Apple Watch support are notably missing features that multiple reviewers want. The hardware appears reliable, but the software experience is hindered by reliability and usability problems affecting remote access, tenant code management, and notifications.
Pros
  • Solid, high-quality lock hardware with smooth operation.
  • The app generally gets the job done for basic locking/unlocking and monitoring.
  • Good value for money; price point is hard to beat.
  • Simple, straightforward functionality that works for basic use.
Cons
  • Frequent sign-in/logout issues; the app often requires re-login and doesn’t stay authenticated.
  • PIN/code management is flaky; editing/adding/deleting codes or setting durations can fail or cause the app to become unresponsive.
  • Intermittent connectivity between the app and the lock; remote access and status updates can be unreliable.
  • No biometric login (Face ID) and no password manager integration, making quick sign-in cumbersome.
  • No Apple Watch app support; users would like to lock/unlock from the wrist.
