User Reviews

User reviews consistently praise the app's Stockfish-based engine and analysis features, including screenshot analysis and multi-board study. However, recurring issues dominate: confusing or misleading billing and subscription charges, poor cancellation flow, frequent stability bugs after updates (white screen, boards not saving, drag glitches, en passant), and unresponsive customer support. Value for money is questioned due to paywalls and costly pro pricing. Overall sentiment is mixed-to-negative despite strong engine capabilities, with reliability and billing problems being the most mentioned pain points.
Pros
  • Powerful Stockfish-based engine with deep analysis and useful move suggestions.
  • Helpful learning tools, including screenshot analysis and simultaneous/multi-board study features.
  • Broad feature set that many users find valuable for studying and improving chess.
  • Positive sentiment about the core engine's capabilities to improve play when functioning correctly.
Cons
  • Billing and subscription issues, including unexpected charges, misleading free trials, and difficulty canceling.
  • Chronic stability and UI bugs, especially after updates (white screen, boards not saving, drag/placement glitches, en passant).
  • Poor or unresponsive customer support.
  • Value concerns: paywalls, high pro pricing, and ads; perceived freemium trap.
  • Increased device heating due to intensive engine calculations.

The customer service is horrible I’ve been tryin to get help for over a week and not even a response. The boards don’t keep their games when another game is upload to a different board. I still have yet to get a response from anyone from customer support.
