Ping is a location-based social utility that lets you share statuses on a live map, see where friends are, and get notified when they’re nearby. It’s not a traditional feed—it’s a real-time snapshot of your social world.

How it works: Map Statuses show friends’ activities on the map in real time; Friend Alerts notify you when someone is near or on the move; and Pinging lets you send quick prompts to meet up.
