User Reviews

Users widely praise ColorSleep for improving sleep quality and reducing stress, with a broad library of color noises and tinnitus-friendly options. It’s especially valued for newborn sleep and travel/hotel use. The main drawback is a subscription paywall that gates features, with some users finding the cost high or not worth it vs cheaper alternatives like standalone sound machines. Additional friction comes from onboarding and UI/navigation issues for some users, particularly during setup on smaller screens.
Pros
  • Significant sleep improvement and faster time to fall asleep
  • Calming and stress-relieving effects
  • Wide variety of color noises and sounds (including tinnitus) to choose from
  • Helpful in various contexts (newborn sleep, hotel rooms/travel)
Cons
  • Paywall / subscription required to unlock features (perceived as expensive)
  • Perceived high cost relative to alternatives (some users prefer cheaper standalone sound machines)
  • Onboarding and UI/setup friction (setup steps and navigation can be awkward on small screens)

I use Green Noise with a river underlay for meditation. I like the fade-out options. Wish you could adjust volume within the app.

Says $1 a month. I joined the feee trial and it wants to bill me $49 for the year. Then I go back in to look for this $1 a month and now it’s $9.99 a month. Total Bait and Switch

I loved this app to begin with but then it started to glitch. All of a sudden it would not play as loud as it first did and I had everything (iPhone, Alexa speaker and the app ) turned to max. I put up with that for a long time since I had a subscription. The last straw came when it would not play at any volume even though it was paired to the speaker. I would have to delete and reinstall the app to make it work. Last night I had to reinstall it 2-3 times. I was so frustrated and upset it was harder to fall asleep which kind of defeats the purpose! I no longer can trust it to work properly so I cancelled my subscription and will try something else.
