TapCounter by QuantActions

The TapCounter app is only available to individuals participating in a research study approved by QuantActions. The purpose of this research app is to collect touchscreen interactions on the provided keyboard. The collected data will be further processed to learn behavioral patterns and further investigate the basic understanding of basic human behavior to gain a more comprehensive understanding of brain health.

The app measures the following information: a) the timing of each touchscreen interaction on the provided keyboard, b) the time zone of the user’s location, c) timing of the ‘delete’ key, d) if you swipe or use autocorrection, e) model of the mobile device on which the app is installed, f) the battery log of the mobile device, g) the label of the App in which the provided keyboard is used.

Data protection and privacy: No personally identifiable information or content as in text, images, browsing history, GPS or contact details is ever collected. All data is encrypted on the phone and stored securely in Microsoft Azure servers under anonymous codes. The data is transmitted from the user’s phone to the cloud in the presence of Wi-Fi connectivity.
