Smartskies

Smartskies is a new to market, Aviation Platform for General Aviation (GA), developed by TwelveTechnology Limited. This App is a first version to allow the GA community to try the functionality and give feedback to support new feature development.

SmartSkies has been developed to make flying in uncontrolled airspace easier, safer and more automated. The Platform includes:

1. A secure encrypted Flight Data Platform in the Cloud, to store critical safety records.... eg Logbooks

2. A mobile interface to make flights easier to arrange and track for pilots and instructors. (this app in the AppStore)

3. An airfield interface to monitor arrivals and generate safety alerts that improve safety at small airfields not operating under Air Traffic Control.

Future features include; booking and paying for fuel and food, paying for landing fees, and social flying including sharing flights and "meet-ups"

SmartSkies aims to be part of an eco-system of technologies developed for General Aviation, including Pilot Aware and Sky Demon, to support the sector in remaining self-regulated whilst increasing safety and making flying easier for pilots and Airfields by removing paper based processes.

TwelveTechnology anticipate that growth in Unmanned Aircraft Systems will require the scaling of current GA processes beyond safe and sensible limits so digitising General Aviation and flying in uncontrolled airspace through the SmartSkies Aviation Platform will help facilitate the adoption of these technologies without impacting on current airspace users.
