Features & Capabilities

TreasuryViewer is a mobile app that lets you view and buy TreasuryDirect securities from your phone. It loads data from TreasuryDirect.gov, supports biometric login or mobile PIN, and offers commission-free trades. This is not the official US Government or TreasuryDirect app.

Key features include a detailed portfolio breakdown, access to tax documents, and the ability to buy and manage orders for T-bills, T-notes, T-bonds, FRNs, TIPS, and Savings Bonds. Login happens on-device and we never access your data. Roadmap includes more advanced portfolio stats, performance graphs, redeeming securities, and linked bank accounts.

User Reviews

Users generally praise reliable performance, a clean UI, and quick access to Treasury Direct holdings and yields. However, recurring issues include mandatory OTP login with delivery failures, privacy concerns and spam risk, occasional UI bugs after updates, and requests for missing features like reinvestment cycle control and multi-account support.
Pros
  • Works well and generally performs as advertised.
  • Clean, easy-to-use interface that's simple to navigate.
  • Displays holdings and yields for Treasury Direct assets, including i-bonds.
  • Useful mobile companion to Treasury Direct, easier than visiting the TD site.
Cons
  • OTP login can be a hassle and OTP delivery can fail, locking users out.
  • Security/privacy concerns: reports of password exposure or potential data leakage and spam.
  • UI bugs and formatting issues after updates.
  • Missing features: reinvestment cycle controls and multi-account support.
Recent reviews
Love the app, have been using it for the past couple years. I like the change to allow you to login to the TreasuryDirect website through the app, but since that and other recent changes I can rarely get my portfolio to pop up or an order to go through for a bill. Relogging a couple of times will get me brief access but it’s intermittent at best. I have a new iPhone and am running off WiFi typically, so it definitely seems like the app.

This app is useful for you on a mobile phone but can use many improvements. First it still needs the OTP, which is a big hassle. Second there is no way to sort notes bills and bonds. Third, the main screen doesn’t show expiration dates which also should be able to be sorted.

A great way to make secure investments that give a high rate of return! I would highly recommend.
