BaseBites shows promise with a strong concept targeted at military communities and an improving, smoother interface, plus responsive customer support. However, the app's biggest issues are supply and reliability: in many areas there are too few dashers and limited restaurant options, leading to late or cold deliveries or failed orders. Users report a flood of push notifications with little control, frequent bugs (cart items not updating, ‘no restaurants’/empty content, and form errors), and missing in-app tipping or dasher-rating features. Overall, the idea is valued by some, but repeat problems hinder consistent use.

Was super excited when I heard of the app cause this is something every base needs for sure. As soon as I tried to create my account though I’m running into issues. How long should someone wait for an email to validate my account?? Why won’t support get back to me?? When all the bugs are fixed this app could be monumental for people on base.

I really wanted to love this app, but they really don’t do anything to make sure there are plenty of dashers or to encourage people to want to dash for them. There are so many spouse job search groups in the area. It’s just absolutely so annoying. I’m sure they can offer to pay them more or SOMETHING. We literally have only one dasher in the entire DC region which is absurd so everything you order no matter what is cold or really late which isn’t the one dasher’s fault, but this makes it more of an inconvenience than anything. And on TOP of that in a major metropolitan region like DC during dinner time only have 3 hour increments that our base can order (3:30 to 6:30 but like who’s home with the family ordering dinner at 3:30??!!) and the neighboring base gets 6:30 to 9:30. This just is not right and unacceptable. Next to all of this, they literally send 5 push notifications a day, I never go a day without at least a couple promo notifications. They really need a better marketing team. It’s annoying since I can’t turn them off because when I am able to use the app during my designated (🙄) hours I like to know when my food is finally on the way or if I need to figure out something else. The military community deserves better. There’s a ton of kinks they need to work out because it’s a great idea in concept but right now it’s just an absolute pain to deal with. I can’t give less than one star but if I could, the only reason why I would have given one star is because it’s nice to (during designated hours 🙄) potentially order takeout that may or may not be fresh. I feel like so many people in the military community are already on a budget and treating ourselves with takeout is really nice when we can do it, but it’s just a waste of money when you get two hour old and soggy food. BaseBites: DO MORE TO ENCOURAGE DASHERS AND YOU’LL BE RICH!! Work on your marketing! Right now you’re capable of a ton which is debatably worse since you’re making your logistical nightmare the problem of your customers.
