User Reviews

Eternal Ember is fun and engaging with satisfying core combat and solid hero customization, and it blends idle and active play well. However, reviews coalesce around several negatives: aggressive monetization and pay-to-progress barriers, a slow and expensive upgrade system, a perceived lack of meaningful content or timely updates (with frustrating ranking mechanics), and recurring connectivity issues. If you’re willing to invest, the game can shine, but non-spenders may face stagnation and frequent disruption.
Pros
  • Fun, engaging core gameplay with a rewarding progression loop.
  • Coherent blend of idle and active gameplay that works well on mobile.
  • Tactical hero customization and control (positioning, gear, and skill trees).
  • Pleasant overall design and polish noted by players.
Cons
  • Heavy monetization and pay-to-progress barriers (premium passes, diamonds, market) that push spending.
  • Slow, expensive upgrade path with high gold costs and resource grinding.
  • Lack of meaningful new content/updates and problematic ranking mechanics.
  • Connectivity/server issues disrupt play (connection failures, errors, download problems).

Grind worthy if you like loot, boss fights are cool and character building is decent, as you beat levels the town becomes more interactive, smithing, shops, unlockable characters etc. and for a few bucks you can make it and idle sim, like $5 gets you passive battles while your away, THE GRIND WILL NEVER STOP!!! Muhahaha Also some PvP aspects, similar to war games you can compete for territory during some events and get better loot, ranked Arena and I’m sure there will be more events to test your might soon but none of which is necessary for gameplay. But, Definitely worth the time to check it out! Like my review for good luck :)

Issues with in app purchases. They push you to use their market instead of Apple. If you pay and don’t receive the items you are on your own. Won’t respond to support messages.

Game is fun so far. I don’t feel the need to spend on it yet. Only downside is I can’t play it on my iPad while it’s charging because it doesn’t allow rotation. Setting my iPad upright and playing while charging does not work. It would be awesome if they could allow for rotation upside down in the settings
