Squarelets: Guess the Picture

Calm, cosy puzzles to unwind

Overview

Features & Capabilities

A quiet little puzzle: tap squares, watch a picture slowly appear, and guess what it is. That's the whole game, and that's rather the point.

Squarelets is made for the moments when you'd like to switch off for a bit: the commute, the waiting room, the end of a loud day.

No pressure and no rush: one small one-off unlock opens endless play, and there's no subscription. It's made by one person in a small studio who wanted games to be a little kinder.

HOW IT PLAYS

Every puzzle begins as a handful of plain squares. Tap one, and a little piece of the picture peeks out. Tap another. Somewhere along the way you'll simply know what you're looking at, and the fewer squares you needed, the more points you keep. If a puzzle is feeling shy, powerups like Extra zoom and Time freeze are there to help.

Every puzzle is made fresh, just for you, so you won't see the same one twice.

PLAY YOUR WAY

A gentle Daily Challenge. A Weekly Challenge, if you fancy comparing notes with others. Timed Mode when you'd like a little sparkle, and Timeless with no clock at all, just you and the picture. A small companion keeps you company along the way (there are outfits, naturally), and Pin the Cactus will say hello when you arrive.

THE QUIET PROMISES

• No timers rushing you. Timeless mode never has a clock; the clock in Timed Mode is only there because you invited it. • No guilt and no streak-shaming. Step away whenever life asks you to; Squarelets will be here. And if a round goes properly sideways, we'll politely pretend we saw nothing. • One-off unlocks only. No subscriptions. • Plays offline. Aeroplanes, basements and hammocks all welcome.

WHAT'S FREE AND WHAT ISN'T

You can play every day for free. One small one-off unlock, Endless play, removes the round limit for good. There are also little bundles of Squarecoins for powerups, if you ever fancy them, but you never need them to enjoy the game.

GENTLE ON YOUR EYES

A proper dark mode, colours you can tell apart without relying on colour alone, and contrast that doesn't make you squint. Accessibility isn't a checkbox here; it's part of the craft.

KIND WORDS WE TREASURE

Apple's editorial team called Squarelets "Endlessly cute", and it has been Game of the Day on the App Store more than a dozen times. It has also been a finalist at the Pocket Gamer Awards and shortlisted for a TIGA award.

Squarelets plays on iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro, supports Game Center, and speaks 28 languages.

Whenever you're ready, a little journey awaits.

Either it’s rigged or buggy because the correct choice is sometimes greyed out.
