User Reviews

User feedback highlights a simple, free, and visually pleasant flashcard app that works well for language study. The main cons are practical limitations: cards truncate long text without scrolling; import/export and Anki compatibility are confusing or unreliable; spaced-repetition features are not consistently reliable; and updates have altered the UI, removing the search bar and making navigation less intuitive. Despite these issues, many reviews praise the core functionality, clean design, and accessibility, indicating strong potential once UI and import/export are tightened and text display improved.
Pros
  • Simple and easy-to-use UI that many users find intuitive.
  • Free option on iOS, making it accessible to many learners.
  • Pleasant design and visuals (color palette and glassy UI).
  • Solid support for language study with features like spaced repetition/flashcard mode.
Cons
  • Long questions/answers are cut off with no scrolling, making content unreadable.
  • Import/export and Anki compatibility are clunky or unreliable (difficulty importing separate decks, CSV issues, and missing export options).
  • Spaced repetition functionality is inconsistent or not working as expected (e.g., shuffle feature does not work).
  • UI/UX changes in updates reduce usability (missing search bar and a less intuitive overall experience).

I don't write reviews often, but I actually wanted to for this app. I have tried plenty of different flashcard apps (because I'm very particular about them), and this one is easily my favorite. If you're looking for a simple yet effective flashcard app to study with, I would highly recommend this one. For starters, I love the design of everything. It feels very smooth, easy to navigate and still offers plenty of customization. I've found a lot of apps can feel confusing or even overwhelming when they include too many features, but Azri manages it beautifully. Visuals aside, the functionality is also really solid. It has all the core mechanics you'd want: - A library to hold card decks and folders for organization - A tab for analytics, including retention trends, activity, due forecasts, and your most difficult cards - Goal setting - A queue system - The search filters by folder, deck, or card state (new, learning, review, or relearning) - Optional AI features, if you're interested in AI integration I also find the spaced repetition system to be very convenient and easy to use. After revealing the answer to a card, you can choose whether it felt "easy," "good," "hard," or if you want to review it again straight away. The spacing between reviews is customizable too. Overall, I've found Azri to be very efficient both stylistically and structurally. And mostly free. 🥹 Oh, and another thing I wanted to point out is the growth I've seen over the months I've been using this app. When I first downloaded it, I was already happy with its features. However, as time passed, more and more features were added—still without flooding the interface. Every update has pleasantly surprised me. Whenever something new appeared, it usually wasn't heavily announced and instead felt like discovering a little easter egg. They're fun to mess around with and decide whether you want to incorporate them into your studying or not. There is also a lot of flexibility in how much of the app you want to use. Personally, I've never had a problem with sticking to the basics when I didn't have the motivation to do more. With other apps I've used in the past, trying a new feature often felt like a huge commitment, or updates would be pushed in an obnoxious way. Azri definitely doesn't do that. In fact, one of my favorite parts about Azri is its attention to its community. There's actually a space within the app where you can make completely anonymous requests, and others can upvote them if they agree. You can track their status (pending, approved, etc.), and from what I've seen, the developers are genuinely attentive to feedback. I know more apps are starting to implement systems like this, but usually it feels like a whole process, and our ideas don't always feel welcomed or seriously considered. All in all, this app got me through many of my classes this year, even making some of them fun to study for. I am currently on summer break, yet here I am... writing this very long review... simply because I felt inclined to express my gratitude. Even though studying is usually a daunting task for me, I plan to continue using this app over the summer because learning a new language with it has become a really rewarding pastime—especially when I can see the progress I have made through the analytics tab. Anyway, I mainly wrote this review as a thank you to the developers, but if you've read this far and still haven't downloaded the app... what are you waiting for? Lol. If you decide to give it a try, I hope you have as much fun with it as I have. 🥰

Overall a nice lightweight spaced repetition app with pretty much all the basic features you need. My only suggestion is to have an overall review mode for all cards that allows both front to back and back to front reviews since current I get way more practice going one direction.

The app works fine but I would like to add an image to the cards to learn things image based other than just text like teaching kids animals or colors or maybe learning other things
