Overview

Features & Capabilities

EMF Analytics is a practical Chrome extension that uses your device's built-in magnetometer to detect electromagnetic fields. It presents a live EMF reading, a timelapse history graph, and a unit toggle between microtesla (µT) and milligauss (mG). The current reading, along with minimum and maximum values, is displayed for quick assessment.

The app features large colored LEDs that visualize intensity, an X/Y/Z axis display, and optional sound and vibration alerts. A flashlight toggle is included for dark environments, and the screen stays awake while the app is in use. Note that functionality depends on your device having a magnetic sensor; if unavailable, no measurements will be shown. Use with care and under your own risk.

User Reviews

Reviews show the app is entertaining and can detect EMF near metal or electronics offline, at low cost. However, readings are inconsistent and highly orientation-dependent, making it unreliable for professional use. Many treat it as a casual ghost-hunting or prank tool rather than a serious meter, with some complaints about developer promotions. Overall, it’s a cheap, offline, casual EMF app with mixed reliability.
Pros
  • Works without Wi‑Fi / offline use
  • Detects EMF near metal objects and electronics in some scenarios
  • Low-cost / good value compared to professional meters
  • Fun for ghost hunting, metal detecting, and pranks (broad appeal)
Cons
  • Unreliable / inconsistent readings; readings vary with device orientation and location
  • Not suitable for real-world professional EMF measurement; primarily a casual or entertainment tool
  • Promotional content from the developer is perceived as repetitive or spammy
  • Occasional intermittent performance (long periods with no readings followed by spikes)

I compared this app to my EMF meter tool, and it is pretty accurate. But it doesn’t really catch any weak signals like my fan, but it doesn’t catch stronger signals like my PC.

I tested it at a cemetery in it, and it went up all the way to the red when I pointed it at a grave I told the spirit if you died of the age of 50 and it lit up
