WeDeliver Care allows users to connect to, and receive dispatches from, many of the nation’s leading pharmacy, hospice, home health, and home medical equipment providers. Once a subscriber has registered, their delivery and clinical staff can receive dispatches right to their mobile device, and provide real time status updates, including bar code scanning data and signature images, back to the subscribing company. By simply logging on the app, their staff member’s current location will be provided and will be ready to receive order dispatches. Please note that this app uses GPS running in the background, which can dramatically decrease battery life.

The company I work for transitioned to using this app. I love new software and was excited to hear about the opportunity to start using a paperless mobile delivery app for scanning equipment while in the field that integrates. However I’m sad to say that the WeDeliver Care app seems like a beta-level application at best. Not only is it buggy and often has trouble performing basic, fundamental tasks, its UI/UX is far from polished and not user intuitive. I attempted to use it and it wouldn’t save, important information was buried under multiple menus, etc. I would describe myself as a software super-user. I’ve evaluated countless pieces of software, have built websites for large and small companies alike, and have been on projects where UX experience and functionality were important. I LOVE the concept of the app. And I feel that if the developers could really get the feedback they need from those who use the app in the field, they have the makings of a money-winner for sure. However, I don’t know how the app got released for production use in the field. Sadly the old Windows CE Mobile Scanners we used to use for the same integration worked far better and had software that was solid in functionality and intuitive. Sadly of course windows discontinued support and the old scanners just aren’t viable anymore…To the developers…don’t give up. If the app can be refined you have the potential for something awesome. But you might need to schedule some focus groups with selected field personnel who use the app and who have a feel for software as well. Also adopting some standard UI practices as far as menus, buttons, navigation, etc will help make the app more intuitive and align with what most users expect to find when using software.
