User Reviews

Find the Note is praised as a helpful, accurate, and easy-to-use tool for learning musical notation, with clear on-screen note displays and broad usefulness across different instruments. Users appreciate it being free or unobtrusive and many report fast performance. However, recurring issues include microphone permission problems, the need to pay for additional instruments or features, a limited detection range for very high notes, and occasional lag or false positives from background noise, plus inconsistency in recording notes.
Pros
  • Helpful for learners navigating musical notation.
  • Accurate and easy to use, with notes reliably identified.
  • Shows detected notes visually on screen during playback/recording.
  • Free to use / generally unobtrusive with minimal ads.
  • Works across a variety of instruments and vocal ranges.
Cons
  • Microphone permissions can be hard to enable or granted properly.
  • Many features/instruments require payment, limiting free use.
  • Limited detection range for very high notes (e.g., octave beyond B6).
  • Sometimes laggy and prone to false positives from background noise.

I press record and a pop up says enable mic access.. but it’s like they forgot to put this in settings because I look and all I see is options for Siri and Search. So.. I don’t know…???
