Pros: template-based journaling that's easy to use; trail-focused design that replaces paper journals; ability to import past journals and view stats; keeps a miles and daily trail journal on the device. Cons: saving glitches; no photo support; requests for export and analytics capabilities. Overall, great for thru-hikers needing a portable journal with stats, but fixes are needed for saves, photos, and export.

I love this app. I’ve used it to track two big thru hikes so far (AT 22 and PCT 24). I like that it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles, but still let’s be keep track of all the numbers (mileage, dates, where I slept, etc). I’m a numbers and stats person, so it’s really fun to see how often I cowboy camp or how much ascent/descent I’d covered. And having a journal entry option is also fantastic so I can keep all my notes in one place where I’m on trail. It’s streamlined and minimalistic. I’ll definitely upgrade to the paid version for my next thru hike.

I used this app on the AZT with my iPhone SE, and found zero bugs. However I had to replace that phone with a 15 pro. I’m tbruhiking the CT and having some issues. The location showed for each entry in the list is the location for the first day, but is correct within the entry itself. And sometimes even though I have an entry fully filled out, it won’t save until I check and uncheck a box (like slept in a bed. )
