Features & Capabilities

View augmented reality model of physics and math concepts through your phone. You'll need a Merge Cube (downloadable from the internet). Click on different button to navigate to different topics. Click on View in AR to view the model. Hold the Merge cube so that your camera can see it well. Move the cube around until you see the model. Click on the buttons to interact with the model. Click the back button to get back to the info screens or to the main screen.

User Reviews

Users consistently praise MARVLS for turning complex EM concepts into tangible visuals. The app's 3D/2D models, interactive cube, and ability to link variables and equations—often with real-time highlighting of right-hand rule components—greatly improve understanding and retention. Reviewers stress its value for topics like magnetic/electric fields, Gauss’s law, and Lorentz force, and highlight its hands-on, palm-friendly VR experience via MERGE cube. The main drawbacks are occasional UI glitches and a desire for a more course-specific organization to streamline navigation.
Pros
  • Excellent 3D/2D visualizations that make abstract physics concepts easier to grasp.
  • Highly interactive experience: rotate the cube, move models, and manipulate variables for hands-on learning.
  • Clear linking of visuals to mathematical equations and the right-hand rule, with highlighted components.
  • Effective for magnetism, electric fields, Gauss's law, Lorentz force; aids conceptual understanding.
  • Seamless VR/augmented hardware support (MERGE cube) and full 360-degree exploration.
Cons
  • Occasional UI glitches: some buttons/toggles require double taps or don’t respond consistently.
  • Suggestion to restructure into course-specific subsections (e.g., separate Phys I vs Phys II) for easier navigation.

This app is super helpful visualizing abstract concepts and 3D models!! It is also really helpful in applying the RHR and seeing how physics concepts visually work

An amazing tool to aid in learning e&m, with great visuals. It helped a lot to visualize and understand how different components work. These visuals along with a lecture is an absolute godsend

This app helps me to visual the concepts learned in physics 2. Often, it can be fiscally to visualize things like magnetism and electric field. With the MARVLS app it makes it very easy to see these concepts in 3D space.
