Roam Mobile shows promise with a native iOS experience and improved keyboard support, making it a valuable companion for Roam veterans. However, persistent performance issues, a clunky mobile UI, onboarding friction around graph setup and sign-in, and incomplete mobile feature parity prevent it from being a robust standalone tool. With improvements in speed, usability, and feature parity, it could become a strong mobile Roam client; as of now, it’s hit-or-miss for many users.

Pros

Native iOS app provides a much more native Roam experience on iPhone/iPad.
External keyboard support works as expected, making mobile typing more usable.
For Roam fans, the mobile app is a strong companion and feels faster/easier than competitors.
The app can be a useful quick-capture/reference when away from the desktop.

Cons

Significantly slow performance and loading times, with memory management issues.
Mobile UI/UX is clunky, visually unattractive, and not well optimized for touch navigation.
Onboarding graph setup is frictionful (you must create a graph on desktop/web) and login/sign-in is repeated or disruptive; 'graph too large' errors are common.
Incomplete mobile feature parity (limited search capability, no true multi‑window on iPad, unreliable share sheet) reduces usefulness.
