The Lexus Integrated Dashcam App lets you connect to your dashcam to manage device settings and download video content over Wi‑Fi. It provides Wireless Video File Transfer, Settings Management, and Software Updates. You can easily transfer video files from any folder to your phone, then share or save them locally. Note that videos are transferred directly from the camera to your phone and are not stored or backed up in the cloud. The in‑app Owner’s Manual offers detailed help for features and functions.

Settings Management covers G‑force sensitivity, video resolution and frame rate, storage allocation, date and time settings, video information stamps, GPS history, default microphone behaviors, and overwrite preferences. Over‑the‑Air software updates keep the dashcam up to date. For best results, save important footage promptly and be aware that memory card capacity can overwrite protected files. The app also provides access to a detailed in‑app Owner’s Manual for guidance.

The Lexus Dashcam iPhone app is plagued by connectivity and performance problems. Recurring pairing failures, Bluetooth/CarPlay interference, and OS compatibility issues hinder use. When it connects, video processing is slow and live view can stall or crash. Access to footage inside the app is limited, with difficult export/share options and dependence on the SD card in some cases. Although the hardware can produce clear video, the overall experience is inconsistent and user support is often unresponsive.

Recent reviews

Build quality of cam is outstanding and worthy of Lexus branding. Connectivity via OEM Y-Harness makes for a clean fit that facilitates DIY installation (in spite of the confusing printed instructions). Luckily there’s an abundance of online resources for this cam and it’s Toyota labeled brethren. Was able to substitute a 128GB SD Card for the meager 16GB that came with the cam. App is adequate for basic file storage, viewing, and access. Just don’t expect data processing speeds you get from your PC, laptop or tablet - it’s just a simple CCD camera with onboard SD storage and rudimentary WiFi connectivity primarily for file transfer. Considering it cost me under $300 for the cam, harness, and 128GB SD card - and installed the unit myself, I consider this a great product that meets or exceeds the needs of most drivers. Lastly, the Lexus badging it instills more confidence in quality and performance than any of the oddly named CCP made products.
