User Reviews

The reviews show a mixed experience: setup can be easy and the product is cheap, with some initial success and configurable options. However, widespread reliability issues dominate: Bluetooth pairing/recognition failures, frequent disconnections, random power-on behavior, poor TV-sync and color accuracy, and a Chinese-only app interface with little support. Overall, many buyers feel the app/hardware are unreliable and not well supported, making it a questionable purchase despite the low price.
Pros
  • Easy to set up and connect initially.
  • Inexpensive price / good value.
  • Configurable options and color controls.
Cons
  • Frequent Bluetooth pairing/recognition failures; app can't find the lamps.
  • TV sync/color issues: colors don't align with the screen; mismatches.
  • Lights turning on by themselves and frequent disconnections; daily re-pairing needed.
  • App language barrier: Chinese-only interface with no language option.
  • General unreliability and poor support; updates cause issues.

My tv lights worked for 4hrs and I went to bed, when I tried to cut it on the next day morning it didn’t work at all I’ve uninstalled everything and tried to do it over but the app doesn’t recognize the device so I’m sending it back!!

I bought a set of AR Color Pickup lights to provide intelligent accent lighting behind my TV. I waited to download the app until after I’d stuck the lights on the back of my TV, which was a mistake. If I’d downloaded the app first I’d have simply returned the lights. The app is essentially nonsense; the naming of functions makes no sense at all, and has little clear connection to functions you might desire from TV lights. The bulk of functions seems to be toward lighting animations or “scenes”, none of which you’d want behind your TV. It also seems like you have to open the app to manually turn the TV lights on and off… if there’s a setting for this it’s poorly named / hard to find. The only setting that functions in a barely useful way is called “Light and Shadow Dream”… what? This app clear isn’t designed to support the hardware they sell. This is a bad app and the hardware is bad.
