User Reviews

Apple Music Classical is praised for its beautiful, editor-driven curation and strong classical-focused organization that improves discovery and often beats Spotify for classical listening. It also integrates well within the Apple ecosystem. However, reviewers repeatedly cite platform gaps (no native Apple TV/macOS app), missing shuffle, performance issues, limited search/filter options, and cross-app syncing bugs, indicating room for stability and platform expansion.
Pros
  • Beautiful, curated interface with deep listening guides that add depth to classical listening.
  • Strong classical-focused organization and composer/instrument-based navigation that improves discovery.
  • Perceived superiority over Spotify for classical music; users have switched from Spotify to Apple Music Classical.
  • Saved items transfer to Apple Music playlists/collections, aiding integration within the Apple ecosystem.
Cons
  • No native Apple TV or macOS/desktop app; limited platform availability.
  • No shuffle option; playlists play in a fixed order.
  • Performance issues and a clunky UI, with slow navigation and scrolling.
  • Search and filtering limitations: results can be imprecise (e.g., entire symphonies) and filtering options are limited.
  • Cross-app library/download sync issues: items may not appear or sync correctly between the classical app and the regular Apple Music app.

Having the same interface as Apple Music allows for the content to be the focus rather than learning a new UI. I love being able to discover new music and support the artists endeavors by listening. Having a separate app also boosts the artists that aren’t mainstream; it’s nice for average listeners to find some classical on regular Apple Music but to get the full breadth of the genre, having a separate platform is necessary and greatly appreciated!

I never write reviews but Apple has done an excellent job with Classical imo. The catalog size is indeed impressive and the categorization is well done. Would like it even more if AirPlay could take advantage of Hi res lossless.

El abanico inmenso de música es algo que disfruto a diario. Descubrir a diferentes intérpretes e interpretaciones es un regalo que abro todos los días con emoción. Gracias!!!
