User Reviews

Glossika is valued for its consistency-focused, listen-and-repeat approach that you can use on the go, helping you build speaking and listening skills through repetition and native‑sounding pronunciation. Reviewers highlight strong sentence-based content and responsive customer support. However, common downsides recur: translation inaccuracies and mismatches, bugs and stability issues, a relatively high price, and a user experience that many find opaque or cluttered. Some also call for more varied voices and better language‑specific guidance. Overall, it's a solid practice tool, but it needs fixes and enhancements to deliver broader value.
Pros
  • Promotes daily consistency and fits into busy routines for on-the-go practice.
  • Repetition-based listen-and-repeat approach builds memory and speaking ability.
  • Strong focus on listening and native pronunciation helps users understand real speech.
  • Positive, responsive customer support and helpful assistance.
  • Quality sentence-based content in languages like Irish/Italian/Finnish with exposure to high-frequency patterns.
Cons
  • Translation inaccuracies and mismatches across languages.
  • Frequent bugs, glitches, lag, and stability issues; offline mode problems.
  • High subscription price relative to perceived value.
  • UX/friction: confusing UI, lack of guidance, inadequate explanations of buttons and features.
  • Some content quality concerns: some phrases are repetitive or not natural.

I love this method because it's exactly what I needed to be consistent. HOT TIP: DONT TAKE THE EXAM EVEN IF YOU KNOW THE LANGUAGE ALREADY. I wanted something speech-only that was easy to start. Will this make me fluent? Obviously no, it must be paired with other language tools just like any other language tool, but I can do this while getting ready in the morning or going on walks or on my commute. I'm doing Spanish and my boyfriend is doing Cantonese, and he's actually gotten so good at this difficult language in one year, he was making sentences while we were talking to my relatives! And he sounds so accurate. Could there be more features? Yes. But I am happy the most that this lets me be consistent which is the most important part of language learning. I think this is the best used after a little bit of instruction such as using Pimsleur Cantonese in my boyfriends case or my public school Spanish learning in my case.

Repeat, Repeat, Repeat-waste of time and money- not even clear audio.

Changing my review from 1 to 5. Had some issues that were amplified by the AI BS general support and lack of FAQs and support explanations of the settings. Sent a rant to the support group that explained some of the problems and received a reply from a real person and began a useful conversation. The real tech support person found some settings to change and that prompted me to look at the issues from a new perspective and help get the app working the way I wanted. I wanted to emphasize pronunciation and that is possible if the app is configured correctly. IMO, the settings are overly complicated and the explanations and FAQs are non-responsive and mostly nonexistent. The AI first line response serves only to discourage and piss off new users, which explains the low scores on usefulness. But if you persist you may well find how to make the app useful for you.
