User Reviews

NDI Multiview is a niche mobile NDI viewer that offers real-time multi-source monitoring with good video quality. Pros include portability, multi-source visibility, and camera controls after purchase. However, reviews repeatedly highlight a heavy paywall: a watermark and a complex, pricey in-app purchase model. Reliability is mixed, with frequent crashes and discovery/connection issues. Additionally, the lack of portrait mode and some usability gaps detract from overall usability, limiting appeal for some broadcast scenarios.
Pros
  • Real-time, multi-source NDI viewing on iPad with low latency
  • Portable tool useful for broadcasters to monitor multiple NDI streams on the go
  • Reliable video feed after purchase and value for users needing NDI on mobile
  • PTZ, focus, exposure, and white balance controls available via in-app purchases for on-device camera adjustments
  • NDI-dedicated tool that helps monitor and record NDI content on the go
Cons
  • Watermark in the free version blocks most of the image; removal requires separate purchases
  • High price and confusing/incomplete in-app purchase model that many users find misleading
  • Frequent crashes and reliability issues; discovery/connection problems across networks
  • No portrait mode, making it unsuitable for portrait-oriented broadcasts
  • PTZ controls are hard to use and not well-supported by the UI

Note: The Watermark (i.e. the red Top Director logo) blocks approx. 80-90% of the camera(s) image in the free download of the App. If you want to be able to view the image from the camera, after downloading the App for free, you’ll need to purchase the following: Go to Settings> General> In-App Purchases to purchase the item named: “Remove Watermark, Double-Tap Full Screen and Start PIP When Going to Background” ($14.99) If you then want to Pan, Tilt and Zoom the camera, you’ll need to make another purchase: Go to Settings> General> In-App Purchases to purchase the item named: “PTZ, Focus, Exposure, Whit Balance Control” ($9.99) I downloaded the App for free and expected that the Watermark would be removed after purchasing the “PTZ, Focus, Exposure, White Balance Control” ($9.99). However this was not the case; the Watermark remained, making the App un-usable. It was a very bad customer experience to discover that I also needed to then purchase the “Remove Watermark, Double-Tap Full Screen and Start PIP When Going to Background” for an additional ($14.99) to make the Watermark go away so that the App was usable. Bad business practice/decision in my opinion. Suggestion to Developers: Bundle the Watermark Removal with the purchase of the Pan,Tilt, Zoom control and adjust the pricing of the Pan, Tilt, Zoom tool if necessary, to avoid a bad customer experience. You are creating good tools. Don’t leave a bad taste in a customer’s mouth involving a function as basic as this. They may decide to dump your product for a better experience with another developer.
