User Reviews

The MyReaderNumber app is praised for being easy to use and genuinely helpful in determining reading (and computer) glass numbers, especially when in-store trials are limited. It often delivers consistent results and supports online purchasing. However, multiple reviews report reliability issues, onboarding friction with data-sharing opt-ins, occasional inaccuracies, and refund challenges, which temper overall satisfaction.
Pros
  • Easy to use and user-friendly.
  • Provides precise numbers for reading glasses (and separate numbers for computer glasses), reducing guesswork.
  • Helpful for online purchasing, especially when stores don’t allow trying on.
  • Results are consistent across repeated tests.
  • Has helped users find the right glasses (including computer glasses).
Cons
  • Reliability issues: the app can fail to work, show error messages, or be incompatible on some devices.
  • Onboarding friction and privacy concerns: mandatory opt-ins and data-release/advertising terms can block progress.
  • Inaccurate or inconsistent readings for some users (numbers may be imprecise or incorrect).
  • Refund difficulties and concerns about refunds/scams.
Recent reviews
Sent in my email, received a verification link, they said I was verified. Great. Go to the app, login with no issues, complete the questions about name and year of birth and if I wear glasses, contacts, etc. Click on complete and immediately get an error message telling me my email address is in an invalid format. Not a good sign.

Firstly, I failed to see how this is any simpler than just trying on glasses at the store. I am aware that the top review is a fake plant attempting to preempt this feedback but it’s true. I need readers, my prescription indicates that I need readers, and that wasn’t the result here. Ridiculous waste of time.
