Op Reports is a surgeon-led team founded by Dr. Howard Webster, Plastic Surgeon - MBBS (Hons) FRACS MBA. At Op Reports, we know the difficulties that surgeons face in writing op notes using pen and paper or via improvised templates on word-processing software.

As surgeons, we perform life-saving or life-changing procedures on patients in state-of-the-art facilities using the most up to date technology. It jars then to record our procedures scribbling with pen and paper or via clunky copy-and-paste in word-processing documents.

Instead, we want to be able to create our op notes in a way that’s in keeping with the quality of our work.

At Op Reports, we wanted to make the op note creation process easier and more efficient for surgeons and that’s why we built this app.

With our app, you can make op notes faster and with a better end result. Your notes will be more comprehensive, better structured, and can include annotated images and diagrams. Nurses will find them easier to read and more informative so they can care better for your patients after the operation.

Data is stored in the cloud, so you can access your op notes securely via your own device from wherever you are. If you need to refer back to an operation you performed yesterday, last month, or last year, you can do that from the hospital, from your office, or from home.

The app is based on a template engine which enables you to create an op note quickly at the time of the procedure. Templates can be set up and customised to any subspecialty and then pre-filled. After performing an operation, a small tweak here and there is all that is required to create a note of the highest quality. The note can immediately be printed or shared electronically with hospital staff or other healthcare professionals.

The app is smart and can be configured to learn as you use it. Over time, the app will build up a library of terms which you can use to make templates and notes. You can create your own custom templates from scratch, or you can start with templates created centrally by Praccelerate and shared via our public template library.

Unlike other healthcare software, we do not believe that a lengthy onboarding programme is inevitable. As surgeons, we don’t have the time or desire. With our app, you can get started quickly via pre-built templates, in your own time and with no training. It works out of the box.

Patient medical data is at the core of our offering and we take that responsibility very seriously. The app is compliant with the Australian Privacy Act. Security on the Op Reports platform follows current best practice and is at the forefront of everything we do. We use two-factor authentication with SMS messaging and we also offer a customisable auto-logout feature. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest and stored on the Google Cloud server infrastructure that powers many of the largest organisations in the world.
