BARBRI’s iOS app offers useful content and quizzes and can be a handy mobile supplement to the desktop experience, but it is plagued by reliability and usability problems. Users report frequent crashes, sign-in loops, and loading failures; offline/downloads can disappear or fail, and video playback often loses sound or freezes with limited controls. While content and study flow are strong, the app’s polish and stability need major improvements.

Pros

The content is useful and provides solid BARBRI prep resources.
Quizzes at the end of modules are excellent for understanding why answers are correct or incorrect.
When it works, the app serves as a useful mobile supplement that mirrors the online/desktop experience.

Cons

Frequent reliability problems: the app often crashes, freezes, or won’t load (white screens, long loading times).
Persistent sign-in issues and errors (infinite login loops and error loading learning plans).
Offline access and downloaded content are unreliable: downloads disappear after days, require reinstall, and offline audio can drop out.
Video playback has issues: sound sometimes doesn’t play, video stops when the screen is off, and controls are limited or unresponsive.
UI/UX is rough and not well polished, with clumsy navigation and inconsistent video aspect controls.

I got this for mpre prep. You would think app developers would have the competence to seamlessly integrate AirPlay and audio encoding right? Right? Wrong! I like to watch videos on the big screen while following along with my iPad or laptop. Won’t even work right on laptop or pc. Not to mention the videos do not even follow the order of any of their textbooks. Not to mention further that this app is basically a shortcut to another app called Bookshelf, which glitches out when launched through this app. The only thing worthwhile with Barbri is Adaptibar, and only because it was developed by someone else before Barbri bought it out, and it’s only a matter of time before they screw that up too.
