User Reviews

Anybox is praised for its fast iCloud sync, strong tagging/folder organization, and native Apple design. However, its cons include unreliable cross‑device syncing requiring manual triggers, potential data loss with iCloud, cumbersome tagging workflows, inconsistent Safari integration, and concerns about price/overload of features. The app excels in organization and design but needs improvements in sync reliability and tagging usability to reach broader satisfaction.
Pros
  • Excellent cross‑device sync via iCloud, with many users noting fast and reliable syncing across iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
  • Powerful tagging and folder-based organization that saves time and helps manage large bookmark libraries.
  • Native Apple design feel, fast performance, and good integration with Apple share features.
  • Good Safari compatibility and browser integration praised by some users.
  • One‑time purchase/lifetime access model is appreciated by a portion of users.
Cons
  • Sync reliability overall is inconsistent in practice, with reports of needing to open the app to trigger syncing and delays across devices.
  • Data loss risk during iCloud sync/imports is reported, including instances of imported data being wiped.
  • Tagging UX is clunky (no bulk/multi-tag assignment; tagging actions can be tedious for many links).
  • Safari integration is inconsistent (some users see limited or no Safari sync across platforms).
  • Pricing and perceived feature bloat can be a turn‑off for users who want a simple bookmarking tool.

What a letdown. I would have lost data because of this app (but for backups). It defaults to having iCloud switched on and consumes an enormous amount of data. I don't need the sync feature and I prefer local where possible. I'd already started using the app, some tagging, some folders, then realized I was 3GB in on my iCloud account so switched syncing off and deleted the iCloud usage in iCloud. The app carried on with an import (10K links) in progress telling me all is well while at the same time destroying the imported data as well as wiping out my previous data. Nice. So now out of morbid curiosity and with no data at all, I tried a fresh import and while it worked and persists I do NOT want to become vested in this app and lose everything a second time. I'd love a refund but that's not going to happen is it.

Just works and helps me sync things across devices nicely without relying on other services outside of iCloud.
