Stud Finder & Metal Detector is a Chrome extension that locates ferrous metal objects behind surfaces by analyzing tiny magnetic field changes from your phone's magnetometer. It detects studs, screws, and nails through wood, drywall, OSB, plywood, plaster, and more, using a smart algorithm that yields precise magnetic field values in microtesla (µT) along with change dynamics and measurement history.

It provides intuitive visual, audio, and tactile alerts when metal is detected. For best results, remove any metal or magnetic case from your device and consider first locating the magnetometer sensor by moving a small metal object across the back of the phone to find the peak µT reading.
