Features & Capabilities

Carrots&Cake turns chores into rewards and makes screen time stress-free for parents. Kids complete tasks to unlock their devices and earn Robux. Parents set the rules once, and Carrots&Cake enforces them daily. Kids build responsibility, while families enjoy peace and balance.

Carrots&Cake: Chores First, Screen Time After

Carrots&Cake takes the hassle out of parenting by ending the daily battles over chores and screen time. Kids learn responsibility, parents no longer have to nag, and screen time becomes healthy and rewarding.

How It Works

Assign chores once. Pick the tasks you want your child to complete — making the bed, unloading the dishwasher, reading for 30 minutes, and many more.

Carrots&Cake enforces the rules. Devices stay locked until chores are done.

Rewards motivate kids. Screen time unlocks automatically, and completed milestones earn kids Robux.

No reminders. No arguments. Just cooperation and fun.

Why Parents Love Carrots&Cake Builds good habits — Kids learn responsibility comes before play. Motivates with real rewards — Screen time and Robux become earned privileges, not mindless time drains. Simplifies parenting — The app tracks chores and unlocks devices automatically, so you don’t have to. Reduces family stress — No more fights about devices. Home routines run smoother. Parents set the rules once, Carrots&Cake enforces them every day.

Key Features Chore tracking — Kids complete their tasks, parents see progress instantly. Automatic device unlock — Screen time starts only after chores are finished. Safe screen time — Kids’ online experience is safe and mindful. Carrots&Cake is KidSAFE certified. Adult sites are blocked and browsers are restricted. Full parental control — Remotely manage your child’s device using your own device: add/delete chores, lock their device without stopping the internet, set which apps can be unlocked, or give instant free time.

Setup Carrots&Cake must be installed on both parent and child devices. Requires Apple Family Sharing for remote management. Parents assign a Robux value to chores to motivate kids even more.

User Reviews

Overall, Carrots&Cake is praised for reducing screen time, boosting learning, and easy Apple ID setup, delivering peace of mind for many families. However, recurring reports of bugs in core features, inability to delete the app, limited support, and trial/onboarding inconsistencies lead to a mixed overall experience where results depend on individual devices and troubleshooting.
Pros
  • Reduces kids' screen time and family arguments, bringing peace of mind and calmer evenings.
  • Encourages productive learning activities (math, reading, piano) and helps kids use educational apps.
  • Easy setup using Apple ID with no extra accounts required, making it quick to start.
  • Many families report improved focus on learning tasks and less nagging.
Cons
  • Core features can be buggy and unreliable (carrot timing/scheduling, unlocking) leading to frustration.
  • Cannot delete/uninstall the app; it can linger on the device.
  • Support and documentation are often unhelpful or slow to respond.
  • Trial experience and onboarding can be misleading or not representative of the full app.

I saw that it says best mom app best family app and best new app reward advertised on the text but I saw none of that when I searched the awards up I saw other apps not carrots and cake this is a complete lie do not recommend also you can’t review until trying the app so don’t think I assumed to early. Edit I saw the moms choice award and the kids are award after double checking but not family choice award nor app award that was thus rewarded to BeReal and for google checking another source Dream by WOMBO. nowhere have I seen carrots and cake. However after digging online there are those awards but many aren’t really recognized. Only 5000 out of 8 billion people obviously minus people who don’t have a device, aren’t online, etc. narrowing it down. In conclusion they have won these wards but more unrecognized awards.

This app sounded perfect - assign tasks/chores or time on specific learning apps like Duolingo in exchange for earning rewards of screentime and Robux. The truth is, we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to make it work beyond the basic tasks, we never got out of the 7-day "trial" which barely had any of the features (only could lock/unlock device, add chores/homework, block apps, and schedule "caketime"), and there wasn't even a way to skip the trial to pay for the full version (if there is one). The "trial" looked NOTHING like the app shown in the App Store or the Features on their website. We received no response from the Carrots&Cake support team and the FAQs are not really that useful. If Carrots&Cake can update the trial version to fix this MAJOR issue, we would be willing to give it another go, but until then, sadly this app is just dangling a fake carrot to parents and definitely not delivering on the promise of cake.
