User Reviews

Reviewers praise Metronome – Beats & Tempo for its versatility across music practice and non-musical uses, and its broad tempo range with adjustable speeds. However, repeated concerns center on pricing and monetization: many features require paid plans, there are claims of hidden charges and scam-like prompts, and the free version offers minimal functionality. The app is seen as useful for musicians, but the cost model significantly colors overall sentiment.
Pros
  • Versatile use beyond music (helpful for therapy/vestibular exercises)
  • Wide tempo range with adjustable speeds (slow to fast)
  • Useful for musicians (guitar/piano practice)
Cons
  • Heavy monetization and subscription model that blocks most features in the free version
  • Perceived scams and hidden charges and pay-to-start prompts
  • Free version is very limited (no core controls like a play button) and pushes upgrading

I wanted a metronome. No twist, no frills, no extra features. You will open the app and see “7-day free trial [switched on]” and then be asked whether you want to pay 30$ a year or 8$ A MONTH to use the app. Which is a metronome. Go buy a real metronome you can touch with your hands- they hover around 20-30$ and you’ll have it forever.

I’m a high schooler practicing my marching music, and we’re playing a song in swing 16ths. I usually use the “Newzik” app for my met but it didn’t have a swing beat. I found this one thinking I’d have a good metronome but it was useless. Would not recommend if you already have a simple metronome
