User Reviews

Players praise GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE for its gripping story, rich lore, and standout visuals. The gameplay offers depth and team-building that suits both casual and hardcore players, with regular new content. However, common concerns include monetization/paywalls, a gacha system with little or no pity, and mobile performance issues such as lag and long downloads, plus large storage requirements. Overall, a strong narrative-driven experience offset by monetization and technical frustrations on mobile.
Pros
  • Compelling story and strong character development that keeps you invested.
  • High-quality visuals, animation, art, and atmospheric soundtrack.
  • Engaging gameplay with depth and team-building mechanics, balanced for casual and hardcore players.
  • Consistently fresh content through new events, collaborations, and mini-games.
Cons
  • Paywalls and monetization practices that feel predatory, with premium character skins and releases.
  • Gacha recruitment system often lacks pity/guarantees; pulls can disappoint and feel unrewarding.
  • Mobile performance issues: frequent lag, freezes, and long download/update times.
  • Large install size and repeated resource downloads increasing storage usage.

This game is fun but the enjoyment dries up quickly once you’re neck deep in it. It feels unpolished in many areas and some mechanics are completely illogical. Combat (Horrible): Your five man squad never feels powerful enough for the job and enemies get spongy and overpowered quickly. No amount of upgrades and equipment compensates for the horrible balancing. Interceptions and boss fights are absolute garbage to go through and are necessary to progress. Shift Up really needs to actually balance the combat so Normal and Hard difficulty are playable. The Story (Grade A): With the Story difficulty, experiencing the awesome story is much easier. Great character development and plot twists that feel organic without taking away from the story progression. Chapters don’t feel too long and diverse (Not DEI) cast function well with each story beat. Unions (???): Aside from the Union Shop that your group has to unlock, there’s no actual reason why this function exists. PvP (Dead): Pretty my ruled by p2w players and cheaters that manipulate the bad balancing to their advantage. It’s not worth playing due to the poor rewards in the Arena Shop and lack of fair matches. The Gacha Mechanic (It’s good): A clear difference is that extra bodies and dna points benefit you when you get characters you don’t want nor need. The chances seem bad but it’s truly random (unlike Genshin Impact and Arknights). There’s nothing about this system that doesn’t benefit the player. Overall, it’s a solid three star gacha game with room for improvement. I can still recommend it with its flaws.
