User Reviews

Reviewers largely praise Photos for storing/viewing large libraries and keeping favorites, but repeatedly cite storage space being consumed, difficulty in finding/organizing photos, and stability issues after updates as the top recurring drawbacks.
Pros
  • Great for storing and viewing a large photo library
  • Easy to keep and access favorite moments/photos
  • Useful as a central place to save photos and use them with other apps (general workflow)
Cons
  • Storage usage is a frequent issue: users run out of space or feel the app consumes too much storage
  • Finding and organizing photos is hard: poor search, irrelevant suggestions, and difficulty locating recent/deleted items
  • Bugs and performance issues after updates: lag, freezing, and UI/UX changes that disrupt use
  • Recent updates/UI changes can be confusing and make the app harder to use

Apple's sw engineers are at it again with the photos app. Apple has destroyed the utility of this App and Cost Me Money. Don't these brilliant idiots realize people might be using their iPhones for real-world tasks, and that their obligatory updates take their toll? Does it take any more than common sense to think to present loyal users with 'Optional New Features Available' rather than, "nothing is going to work the way it did yesterday"?! Yet, Apple's upgrade policy is to usurp choice and enforce conformity. Why? Apple, rethink your actions. Honest, an old Apple slogan Steve Jobs coined was "have it your way", about as true nowadays as Google's 'do no harm'. These sw engineers' biggest error?= thinking, they know how we want to organize and access our photos, and then Forcing that method on us!
