I really wanted to love Cashews, but it feels incomplete in too many critical areas. The app offers a manual categorization mode, but there's no way to actually edit your category list manually—a pretty glaring oversight. Basic functions like categorizing individual transactions (both current and future) simply don't work, and the transaction filter is equally unreliable. I wasn't expecting a perfect 1:1 replacement for manual entry, but when the ML makes mistakes, correcting them is so cumbersome that it defeats the purpose of automation. The app fails at the fundamental stuff you'd expect to "just work" in a finance tracker. It's frustrating because the bones of a good app are here, but the lack of polish on essential features makes it more trouble than it's worth. Until these basic functionalities are fixed, I can't recommend it.

2023-07-30	De*****	I have personal and business accounts with the same bank. I’ve added the personal but when trying to add the business, the app connects then gives an error that the bank is already connected. So kind of useless. Contacted the developer with no response.

2022-12-07	va*****	I downloaded the app, didn't love it and cancelled before my free trial ended. I keep getting the daily text messages which I don't want, but if I open the app to try to change that it immediately takes me to the subscription page and I can't get back.

These other apps would hilariously misconstrue my transactions, duplicate dollars because of simple transfers, and blow up my phone with unnecessary and irrelevant notifications on red herrings from their poorly categorized interpretations on my spending. Cashews is different. It summarizes the transactions across accounts seamlessly and doesn’t force me to repeatedly relabel transactions over and over. This is a great app and anyone interested in seeing a big picture view of their spending capacity and habits should give it a try.

2022-02-07	Qu*****	I am so disappointed by this app. I was hoping it could be a long-awaited replacement for the cluttered Mint app, and was happy to pay before even testing, thinking the app must be so good. Result of the analysis: the app tells me I can spend ALL my account money each month. Not even my salary, just my whole savings. Maybe I did something wrong, but it doesn’t seem that « smart ». ML doesn’t help if it’s misused… $6 lost, my first 1* review.
