User Reviews

Users value Reflect Notes for reliability, strong AI-assisted note-taking, daily notes with backlinks, and cross-device syncing. The main criticisms are slow updates with a shrinking roadmap, high price, feature gaps (tables/advanced formatting), and sometimes unreliable support. A subset also notes minor platform UI issues. Overall, long-time users find Reflect essential and well-suited for a knowledge-management workflow, but many want faster development and more features for the price.
Pros
  • Strong AI features integrated into note-taking (dictation/transcription, 'Chat with Your Notes', AI-assisted processing).
  • Reliability and performance: fast, stable, and consistent across sessions.
  • Daily notes structure with backlinks, linking parts of daily notes to other notes for easy organization.
  • Cross-device syncing and data security/export options (end-to-end encryption, JSON export).
  • Well-considered knowledge-management features (backlinks, templates, aliases) and a thoughtful UX.
Cons
  • Updates feel slow with a shrinking roadmap and perceived lack of ambition to add basic functionality.
  • Premium pricing (~$120/year) is high for many users.
  • Gaps in essential features (e.g., basic table support, richer formatting) compared with some competitors.
  • Customer support can be unreliable or unresponsive.
  • Occasional platform-specific UI issues (e.g., iPad screen ratio) and questions about native iPad app development.

Please please please make this app IPAD-FRIENDLY! Otherwise it’s a great app with a big limitation, for me at least.

Updates have slowed tremendously. Road map is whittling down. Responses to feedback and suggestions have been hostile for no reason. Considering their focus is now AI, where there are now hundreds of AI note apps, there is nothing setting the, apart anymore. Better to move on and not rely on this service for your notes.

Reflect is a well built and certainly basic note taking application with a solid AI implementation that is supported by a small team with no ambition to move fast or add in functionality that is considered basic in most other tools (simple table support, anything more that very basic text formatting support.) You get a 2 week trial to see if it’s for you. Take advantage of it. If it’s for you, you’ll know. If it’s not, it’s not going to change for you.
