User Reviews

Ruby Health is a promising concept for at-home iron and wellness monitoring and can help some users track trends. However, the reviews consistently cite inaccurate readings, substantial variability due to lighting, calibration-related issues, and recurring billing/onboarding problems, making it unreliable for medical decisions despite its potential.
Pros
  • Promising concept for at-home iron and wellness monitoring.
  • Easy to track wellness trends and view instant results.
  • Occasional alignment with lab results, indicating potential reliability for some users.
Cons
  • Readings are frequently inaccurate and not reliably close to lab results.
  • Results vary with lighting and the app provides little guidance on how to control lighting.
  • Calibration requirements can distort future readings and some users want the ability to bypass calibration.
  • Billing, subscription, and refund issues, including trial charges and confusing pricing.
  • Onboarding and reliability problems, such as failed verification, photo capture failures, and removal of manual tests in updates.

I wanted this to work so I knew if I need to adjust my iron intake. I did this test two days in a row and there was a 2 point difference. The lower of the two numbers was done in my bathroom which has what claims to be a daylight light bulb and the higher number was done in a room with a standard led. I do the free version so I only use it when I feel off and need to know if it is iron or protein I need. hopefully one day this can be a lot more accurate because right now they're really aren't at home tests unless you get it from a different country and or pay an arm and a leg and I'm not going to run to the doctor every time there's a problem because it's pretty much pointless for a female in the US.
