The creators of this app unconditionally support coercive control and are anti-survivor. The creator and her team engage in vicious, extreme bullying of vulnerable adults and children experiencing domestic violence. The creator and support team collude with writers who have perpetrated harm in multiple marginalized communities for decades. The creator and the team actually participate in and escalate the abuse. They justify and excuse violence towards vulnerable disabled adults and behave violently to survivors who advocate for themselves and their safety. They inform on victims to the perpetrators and have engaged in months of horrific emotional abuse. They relentlessly attacked one deafblind survivor for months. When the creator and support team target vulnerable people with relentless bullying, they use coercive control to silence and isolate those who seek accountability. They evade accountability for their harmful behavior through narcissistic stonewalling, institutional betrayal, and cult-like communication control. So this is not a safe place for vulnerable adults, children, or marginalized people. The app creator and support team also engages in vicious attacks of fact-checkers and undermine basic media literacy. They are unconditionally loyal to authors who engage in research misconduct by erasing fact-checked and critical reviews. There is a severe lack of media literacy skills and an environment of coercive control that promotes disinformation. They also are unconditionally loyal to authors who have been repeatedly investigated and found guilty of research misconduct. There is also rampant white supremacy, ableism, and audism on this app. The creators relentlessly support white people who lie about being Black and Indigenous even when the authors have been investigated and proven beyond-a-doubt to be white, non-Native people who do not belong to the tribes they falsely claimed to be members of. The creators of this app relentlessly attack reviewers who discuss an anther’s history of cultural identity theft and fraud in their reviews. They erased the library of someone who was abused by a white writer during quarantine to shield the perpetrator from accountability. The writer was white and had been exposed for falsely claiming to be Black. They blocked any honest discussion of writers like Andrea Lee Smith, Thomas King, “Qwo-Li Driskill” and others exposed in the national and international media as white. This app markets itself as better than Goodreads and as a welcoming, loving community, but the moment you confront something that isn’t right it devolves into something vicious and extremely destructive. The creators of this app are narcissistic bullies. They also do not pay workers. They rely completely on exploitive labor practices. They create sharp class divisions and hierarchies between their clique of bullies and “wormfluencers” and users on fixed incomes who don’t pay the monthly fee. If you are critical of the rampant classism, they engage in relentless, neverending emotional abuse. On top of all that, the app is horrible designed by someone with no skills. It is plagued by huge, horrible bugs that never resolve because this developer refuses to pay anyone with actual qualifications or skills to work on the app. She recruits “volunteers” to do all of the work for free, which is not even legal business practice. So if you are looking for an ethical alternative to Goodreads, this is not the place.

The app constantly glitches or fails to show my full shelves, sometimes for days at a time until it randomly works again. It is a nice colorful app but beyond that, very poor software and not functional for exports or tracking.
