Features & Capabilities

Rymdigare is a five-box reverberation and drone engine designed for experimental sound design. Each of the five reverberation boxes offers control over length, ratio, tail, and weight skew, plus an internal feedback that can produce swelling tails. Rymdigare also mixes in a resonant filter, a wave shaper, and a built-in octave shifter, creating wide-ranging textures from lush ambiences to gritty drones. Four LFOs can modulate a chosen set of parameters, including the LFO speeds themselves, and there are random variation controls for the reverb to keep evolving textures.

The plugin can run as a stand-alone device or integrate with other apps via Inter App Audio or AudioBus and as an AUv3 plugin. It supports MIDI mapping via Core MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI, IAA MIDI or AUv3 MIDI, so you can map any parameter to a controller and automate performances. Whether you’re live, in the studio, or scoring, Rymdigare offers flexible routing and sound design capabilities for modern music production.

User Reviews

Users laud Rymdigare for its rich, versatile sound design, striking artistic UI, and strong value. The main drawbacks are host-compatibility issues (AUM/Cubasis/AUv3) and accessibility concerns (low contrast). Despite mixed stability in some DAWs, the app is repeatedly praised for its creative concept, standalone versatility, and the developer’s artistic direction.
Pros
  • Exceptional sound design with broad sonic possibilities and multi-instance AUV3 support.
  • Beautiful, imaginative design and a strong artistic UI.
  • Excellent value for money; feels worth more than the price.
  • Standalone usability plus flexible plugin/workflow options in DAWs (AUV3).
  • Creative UX approach and evident devotion of the developer (artistic vision).
Cons
  • Inter-app compatibility issues with AUM/Cubasis and AUv3; not reliably detected and sometimes freezes.
  • Accessibility/readability problems due to low contrast and color-blind unfriendly UI.
  • Inconsistent host support across apps (AUV3 vs IAA) and occasional compatibility quirks in some hosts.

Stupid colors making the app impossible to see and read. A TOTAL disrespect of color blind people. Deleted for the last time on this ridiculous design! And the stupid small postage stamp screenshots that impossible to read. Dropping IQs are a bear! 15 years and counting, showing the drop in peoples intelligence and the negative affect of herd thinking.
