There’s a concept of digital keys vs phone keys. A digital key is better because it uses UWB instead of regular Bluetooth, and it can be extended to your watch. I really want this feature! I want to be free of my iPhone. But the app won’t let me set it up as a digital key. It’s extremely opaque, it provides exactly no information about why the option isn’t presented to me. I spent a good half an hour talking with a customer service agent and he couldn’t figure it out either.
