User Reviews

Users praise Rivian’s UI and Apple ecosystem features (watch key, UWB key, key sharing) but repeatedly report bugs after updates, flaky remote/key functionality, charging-start failures, broken widgets/lock-screen updates, and login loops. Overall, the app looks polished and powerful when working, but stability and QA need substantial improvement for reliable daily use.
Pros
  • Great UI: simple, intuitive design with meaningful updates.
  • Strong Apple ecosystem features: native Apple Watch UWB car key support, Apple Key Card integration, and electronic key sharing.
  • Sleek, polished app experience when it’s performing correctly.
Cons
  • Frequent bugs and instability across many features after updates (remote keys, digital keys, service requests).
  • Inconsistent phone-key behavior: proximity unlock/lock can flip or fail, and often relies on network instead of Bluetooth near the car.
  • Public charging flow frequently broken after updates: cannot start charging or select a charger, with confusing steps.
  • Lock-screen/widget updates broken: widgets and lock-screen status no longer update or wake properly, causing stale data and battery drain.
  • Login/verification issues and sign-in loops after app updates; sometimes you can’t access your vehicles from the app.

The Rivian assistant is a good idea in theory. The problem is the Rivian software is so unstable that one would think they have higher priorities. I would sincerely appreciate it if Rivian could get saved seat positions working consistently before they continue putting so much effort into the assistant. The infotainment center crashes on me 12 times a week. They could fix that? Or how about correcting all of the highway assist maps? If I had a nickel for every time I was told a road was ending when it wasn’t… the assistant itself is disappointing. She cuts you off when you are speaking sometimes mid word. The wake words never work period.

They should be able to fix this.
