User Reviews

Reviews largely praise delicious, easy-to-follow recipes, a large whole-food catalog, and useful planning tools (menu builder, grocery list) plus podcast-backed health guidance. Common drawbacks include unclear pricing/onboarding, gaps in dietary customization and progress tracking, occasional glitches, and regional limitations on videos. Overall, strong nutrition-focused app with room for improvement in onboarding, customization, and video availability.
Pros
  • Delicious, consistently tasty and easy-to-follow recipes.
  • Large collection of whole-food focused recipes with strong macro balance.
  • Powerful planning features like a menu builder and grocery list.
  • Personalization options such as portion sizing and substitutions (tailored recipes).
  • Helpful health content and doctor-backed nutrition guidance, including a podcast.
Cons
  • Pricing and onboarding can be unclear or perceived as deceptive (subscription trap).
  • Incomplete dietary customization and occasional difficulty saving preferences (eggs/pescatarian options).
  • Occasional glitches and stability issues affecting preferences and progress tracking.
  • Some content features missing (e.g., progress tracking from recipes; Fahrenheit conversions).
  • Video content not available in all regions (e.g., cooking videos not accessible in the US).

We’ve made several recipes from Dr Rupy and each has been stellar! Refreshing ideas with light hearted videos and renewed encouragement to eat a plant based diet.

It took my email-id first and then showed that the app is paid and free can only be used if you agree to be charged x weeks from now. I am okay to pay but I like to first see without locking into any contract what am I getting. Sorry but you'll get a 1 start for being deceptive.

I love the idea of this. I wish there was an easy way to add the recipe to progress right from the recipe. I think it would be great if the database for food would include a wider variety, so that if you had to have a Starbucks panini it would tell you how bad it was. I also would like to modify a recipe with substitutes and add that to my progress. Currently it only works for the offered substitutions.
