User Reviews

Sebmita shows promise with a clean UI/UX and a useful flashcard-style approach for learning African languages. Users generally praise the interface, ease of use, and the app’s potential compared with competitors. However, the reviews converge on major pain points: intrusive ads and rising subscription costs; gaps in audio and pronunciation accuracy; frequent account/login issues and occasional crashes; uneven language coverage and missing foundational content like alphabet lessons. Overall, it’s promising but needs fixes in monetization, reliability, and content quality.
Pros
  • Nice UI/UX design and a clean, pleasant layout.
  • Flashcard-style learning is effective for language practice.
  • Positive reception overall with perceived potential and usefulness for African-language learning.
Cons
  • Persistent ads and costly subscription options disrupt learning, with frequent prompts to pay.
  • Audio gaps and pronunciation issues (missing audio for words, words pronounced too fast, occasional inaccuracies).
  • Frequent account/login issues and occasional crashes (login loops, black screens, progress loss).
  • Limited language coverage and missing foundational content (alphabet lessons, some languages requested like Hausa; some accuracy concerns in certain languages).

I just started using this app to perfect my yoruba and while although it’s good there’s still needs to be improvement, some of the words don’t have any audio to them, so it’s much harder to figure out how to pronounce the correctly i wish that could be fixed, i also would like the pronounciation of the words to spelled out it makes it much easier because most of the time the pronouncing of the words are too fast so i wish that could be included.
