Now, if you’re looking for a harmless way to kill some time, this isn’t a bad game. If you are familiar with card games and rely on basic math, this game will consistently insult your intelligence. There are many examples of how this app manipulates card draws in a way that spits in the face of the laws of math, but the most obvious example of this is when one player tries to shorten a round. Let’s say a player has a very large lead in a round and uses sound strategy to shorten that round in order to leave his opponents with high cards. This is a basic strategy of many card games— and a good one— so long as the card draws are natural, random, and based on actual math odds. However, in this game, a player that tries to shorten a round will invariably turn over their remaining card(s) to find 11s or 12s (unpaired of course) while their opponents turn over matching pairs, cards that “zero out”. This wasn’t an isolated instance. This was the result in more than 90% of our test rounds. In short, card draws are manipulated based on the current state regarding all players as a group at any given time in the round. To shorten the game means advertising exposure is reduced. And there’s the rub: when a player decides to go out early in a round, there is essentially a penalty that is always incurred for playing the game in a way that conflicts with the business-side of the app. They’re in it to make money, of course, and who can blame them for that. Just put your brain on auto pilot when you play this game. Sound strategy and math have no business in business. 🧐
