Card Guardians offers a fun, addictive roguelike deck-building experience with strong visuals and solid replayability across multiple characters. However, its appeal is often undercut by persistent issues: intrusive ads, aggressive monetization with numerous IAPs, and occasional crashes. Progression feels grindy and imbalanced for some players, and the lack of multiplayer or social features is noted. If ads and monetization are toned down, stability improved, and balance refined, the game could have lasting appeal.

Every action has a delay. Play a card: delay, it triggers a debuff: delay, then it triggers a buff: delay, then an item’s effect is triggered: delay, then a card is drawn: delay. Playing a single card can take 5 seconds on the fastest game speed. When you’re playing 10+ cards per turn… holy cow it’s bad… Just remove the delay between actions—or at least give us the option to. If it’s a performance thing, devote the dev hours to optimize it. And for people complaining about ads: no one works for free. Pay for the game or watch the ads. I chose the former.

This game is nice, really fun. The character design is cool and I feel like there is some good passion behind it. The gameplay is really good!! But- there are a few problems. The first thing I would recommend would be changing the UI a little, especially the design of the front page. I feel like it’s a little too basic with the blue background and everything. There’s also a lot of loading in between tabs in the main menu? Idk. But besides those small problems, the game is really really fun and creative! It has great potential and it has gotten much better over the years.
