Exempt is a travel app that simplifies Bahamas customs declarations for returning residents and visitors. It lets you create a secure profile, scan passport information, add accompanying passengers, and complete a C17 form with automatically calculated duties. The app supports receipt uploads, itemized declarations, duty exemptions, and optional prepayment of duties via debit/credit card. It’s contactless and paperless, and information submitted is protected. Note that Mobile Passport/ID submitted to the Exempt profile is not a replacement for your physical passport.

Beyond declarations, Exempt offers a Shopping List that can be saved and uploaded to C17 forms, a Flight Tracker for departures and arrivals, and a City Guide with travel information. You can pre-declare and prepay from anywhere, generate a Mobile Passport QR Code for inspection, and manage receipts and baggage details to streamline the Bahamas port-of-entry process.

After slogging my way through a very buggy app, told upon arrival it is not valid. Scam? Or just a waste of time?

User forced to scan passport even though details are in the system already. The ability to enter details here manually, does not work. After scanning and putting the information in, the app comes back with an error that there is something wrong with the details entered vs the information already in the system. This app needs a lot more testing.
