Overview

Features & Capabilities

MyGames Database is a library tracker for your video game collection. Catalog every title you own, want to play, are playing, or have completed across platforms. Import from IGDB, rate and review games, add strategy notes, and browse screenshots and trailers. This app is not playable; it stores your library data and keeps it synced across devices with iCloud.

Free gives up to 500 games, a beautiful Liquid Glass interface, and essential features like backlogs, exports, a barcode scanner, and an iCloud backup. Upgrading to Pro unlocks unlimited library size, multi-platform copies, custom collections, playtime tracking, advanced sorting and filtering, an extended details view, and additional widgets and export options.

User Reviews

Users largely praise MyGames Database for solid cataloging, backlog management, and a clean UI with good search. The top recurring drawbacks are the 500-item cap, incomplete platform coverage, and a strong request for a separate wishlist. Other common notes include occasional confusion around starting games or ROM imports, and some data clutter like unnecessary DLC listings. Overall, it’s a well-liked app that shines in organization and aesthetics but struggles with scalability and a few feature gaps.
Pros
  • Robust game cataloging and tracking with backlog/list support and category collections.
  • Clean, visually appealing UI with a minimal ad-free design and strong search.
  • Ability to document games across multiple systems/consoles and track platform coverage for retro titles.
  • Useful usability improvements like landscape mode and the option to rename collections to Backlog.
  • Support for rating, reviews, and overall progress tracking within the app.
Cons
  • 500-item limit prevents adding large libraries (noted by multiple users).
  • Incomplete platform coverage with missing consoles and backward-compatibility quirks (PS4/PS5 issues mentioned).
  • Lack of a dedicated wishlist section; users repeatedly request a separate wishlist feature.
  • Occasional usability gaps such as unclear how to start a game or how to import ROMs.
  • Data clutter in some cases (e.g., DLCs shown unnecessarily) and minor UX inconsistencies.
Recent reviews
For a basic free app, it’s not bad, but there’s so many features you need a paywall for. A gripe of mine is that I can’t add games if I have the same game on different consoles. If that is a feature, I don’t even know where to go to figure that out.

This app is great because of its simplicity. I think it’s missing a few things, like a page including most popular games and a page with genres of games to more easily discover games.
