Milkweed: Hunting Weather

Milkweed is the best weather app built for hunters and sportsmen. It's a dedicated weather app, not a feature baked into an existing mapping app or land app. We purpose built it, tested it, and refined it, and now you can use it on your hunts and other outdoor activities.

▶ Trusted Weather Info Our weather data is sourced from WeatherKit, Apple's own weather service. This data is some of the most accurate and trustworthy in the industry, and it's not the same feed every other hunting app is running. We wrap it up nice and package it in a way that is easy for sportsmen to consume.

▶ Weather When It Matters Most We're not meteorologists, we're hunters and sportsmen, so we care about different things. Wind is a pretty big deal for hunting. Temps, the ones you feel on your skin and not just the ones you can measure, matter a lot too. Barometric pressure, moon phase, and rain forecast all play a role in your hunt, fishing trip, hike, or anything else you do outdoors, and they matter most when you're actually on that hunt or trip, so we put that front and center.

▶ Shooting Light Our app Shooting Light started it all, and it's only fitting that we bring shooting light into our weather app, so we did. You can see when shooting light starts and ends and how much time is left until it does. You'll also see the temps around shooting light and any important weather details for your hunt's first and last hours.

▶ THE READ THE READ is our plain-language hunt conditions summary, built for every hunt. It's honest about where it comes from too. Some of it is backed by real research on deer movement, like temperature swings and a clearing sky after rain. Some of it is classic stand-hunter wisdom, like pressure trends, wind shifts, and moon phase, that collared-deer studies haven't proven out yet but hunters swear by anyway. We label which is which so you can weigh it for yourself.

▶ Solunar Calendar See the major and minor feeding periods for any day, based on moon transit and moonrise/moonset for your exact location, not a generic table.

▶ Game Season Tracking Add every season you hunt, deer or turkey, in whatever state you hunt them, and get a running countdown to opening day plus how much time is left once you're in it. Set your own shooting light buffer per location too, since legal hunting hours vary state to state.

▶ Built for Hunting, Great For Everyday Use Milkweed was built for hunting and outdoor use, but we also built it to be a generic weather app for everyday use.
