User Reviews

NullG TacOps is a feature-rich Battletech catalog and unit planner that shines for quickly finding mechs, building custom lance configurations, calculating BV, and printing data sheets. It offers solid inventory management and cross-era support, with active, helpful developers. However, stability remains an issue, with crashes during formations and other bugs. Data accuracy and feature gaps—such as missing aerospace units and onboarding guidance—pull it back. Despite these drawbacks, frequent updates and strong community use keep it a go-to tool for both new and veteran players preparing for games.
Pros
  • Great for looking up mechs, comparing variants, and printing sheets; a personal warbook for GMs and players.
  • Excellent for building and organizing lances and custom mechs with BV and extensive stats.
  • Strong inventory management, including uploading your own units via phone scanner, plus easy printouts.
  • Responsive developers with steady updates; active support for the project.
  • Helpful for new Battletech players and veterans alike to prepare for games and stay organized.
Cons
  • Stability issues: crashes and bugs, especially when tying formations to organizations.
  • Data accuracy gaps: some weapons/loadouts are incorrect or misrepresented.
  • Missing content: no aerospace/conventional fighters yet and lack of onboarding guidance.
  • Some features and searches are temporarily disabled or unclear (advanced search field disabled, unintuitive UI).

I use this app all the time. It’s great for looking up mechs, comparing variants and printing sheets. It’s like your own personal warbook. Highly recommended for GMs and players alike.

This app is rapidly setting the bar for what Catalyst should have available to we the players (aside from physical books!) There are behaviors within the app that perhaps I don’t understand or are glitchy but the stream of updates is steady. Today I noticed the force packs list, which I’m assuming is new because I’ve been slowly organizing my mechs in that fashion using “organizations”. This is always my go to for preparing for a game. No doubt this App will inevitably meet all our needs, though I’ll surely keep my painful spreadsheet as well! Thank you for your work keep it up!

Love the app, but there still some bugs. When making formations, it doesn’t always recognize that you’ve met the criteria. For example; I created a heavy striker lance and it was saying that I did not have at lest 2 Mechs with the Striker/Skirmisher role and none had a long range damage of >=1. All my Mechs did long range damage and there were Striker/Skirmisher units in the lance.
