User Reviews
I tried several apps, all of which required a subscription to use, but none of which really had the features that I needed. I make rosaries and other beaded / wire gifts to sell locally and on Etsy, so I need to keep track of tons of small items like beads of different sizes, various gauges and colors of wire, metal parts, and more. This is the ONLY app I found that was able to do what I needed, and with a very low price compared to the other apps I’d tried.
Sakkanokanri lets me input each part and add a photo, number of pieces and price paid (example: 8.77 for 46 pcs of 8mm bead), and automatically updates to reflect my cost per piece. The unit is customizable - for wire, I can specify number of feet, yards, etc. If I buy more of the same item, I can just go back to that item and change the inventory quantity on hand.
Not only can I track materials, but I can create and track the product I’ve made and exactly what went into it, and what my total cost is. This app helped me realize I was pricing my items too low to account for the amount of wire and findings used. While in the product creation form, you can add a photo, click on the materials section, and it takes you to your materials inventory and allows you to add in each component used in the product - 59 8mm beads, 6 ft of 20 gauge wire, 118 bead caps, etc. Once you’ve created and saved the product, the appropriate amount of parts used is automatically deducted from your materials inventory.
The cherry on top is the last section for sales. Here, you can specify which product was sold, what platform it was sold on (Etsy, eBay, craft show), and all applicable fees and shipping costs. It shows you what your total profit is for the product in the end.
This app replaced 2 very confusing spiral notebooks and a mess of a spreadsheet, and the best part is that it is on my phone, with me wherever I am - I can give a potential customer an estimate anytime, or I can check to see if I need more of any materials while at the craft store.
This is the only developer I have ever contacted with an issue who not only responded, but responded immediately AND made a fix and an update in less than a weeks time. I am so impressed and I look forward to seeing potential new features being rolled out in the future, like customized reports.
If you have a craft based business or any kind of shop that builds products requiring tracking of inventory and seeing your costs vs profit, I cannot recommend this app enough. Thank you so much, Ako, for providing me with an affordable solution for a small new business!!
