Review summary

Reviews consistently praise Biphase for its thoughtful, relatable portrayal of bipolar life and engaging puzzle‑driven gameplay with a strong mood and story. However, recurring concerns center on privacy: multiple reviewers note mandatory account login and data‑sharing expectations, plus conflicting privacy/EULA language. While the gameplay and visuals are well‑received, some players worry about data collection and access requirements before playing.
Pros
  • Relatable and respectful portrayal of bipolar experiences, resonating with players who have or know someone with the condition.
  • Engaging gameplay with intuitive mechanics, increasing level complexity, and thoughtful puzzle‑like challenges.
  • Storytelling and ending elements that reinforce the game's themes and can be emotionally impactful.
  • Stylish visuals and atmosphere that support the mood and concept.
Cons
  • Privacy and data collection concerns due to mandatory account linking and conflicting privacy statements (Facebook/Apple integration).

2023-03-19 pu***** the mechanics of this game are easy to catch onto but the levels of complexity make it very intriguing and fun to play. the music is very nice and hints of the story are paced very well throughout the levels. I have bipolar and this game is pretty representative of the experience- even before the beautiful play through explanation and story at the end, I already somewhat related to the little character lost in an abyss of change.

2021-04-17 Go***** This game is great, and I love the history behind it. Will you be making more levels? Edit: I found a glitch. At the end of the first part, you have to exit and re enter to get to the second part. Please fix this if you can, but if not, it doesn’t matter

2021-04-14 Cr***** Parent company “shuangxiang” wants to collect my personal data from Google and Facebook. Not gonna happen. There are plenty of other games to play from honest companies. UPDATE: This description of this app claims “Data Not Collected: This developer does not collect any data from this app.” But as you can see in their response to my review (and in their EULA/Privacy Policy), they do in fact collect data from this app. You should already be alerted by this dishonesty. In their EULA, it is stated that “(3) we may use the name that you submit in connection with Your Content (whether that be Your Account name, real name or otherwise)”. This is contradiction with the claim that personal information is obfuscated. If personal information is obfuscated, why would they require to link your personal accounts (Apple/Facebook) before you are allowed to play their game? Doesn’t make sense. More dishonesty. One should never have to link a game to a personal account in order to play a game. I feel bad for the designers of the game because their parent company (Seasun)’s demand for data collection will severely diminish the reach of this game. UPDATE 2: The developer claims that “Data Not Collected” only pertains to certain kinds of data collection, but Apple explicitly states that “If an app has multiple possible use cases with different data collection practices, the privacy information section should include the practices of all of them, and how they are used.” Again, the developer has been dishonest. And the developer has again failed to explain why they require the user to submit their Facebook/Apple information before the user can play their game.

2021-04-13 hd***** This seems like a pretty neat game but I can’t deal with the controls, way too hard to manage. Try making the controls something similar to Dadish 2, I think that’s what you guys are going for.

2021-04-13 Re***** My only suggestion would be making it possible to view the ending animation after finishing the game without having to clear the last level again.

2021-04-06 Ia***** it requires an account. An app can do age check without an account. Age check is performed on the device by comparing the age for parental control set on the device to the minimum age property of the app. The developer's answer is incorrect, and possibly misleading.
