User Reviews

Time’s Up! — Visual Timer earns praise for its persistent, visually oriented timer, deep customization, multi-timer support, on-screen accessibility, and adjustable end sounds. Users cite a clean UX, classroom usefulness, and good value after a one-time purchase. Main drawbacks: pay-to-use model after limited free uses, occasional mischarges, limited interval options, and occasional performance issues on some hardware.
Pros
  • Always-on-top visual timer stays visible across windows for quick time checks.
  • Highly customizable with color options, clock face size, background images, and multiple saved timers.
  • Helps with focus and time management, especially for ADHD, time blindness, and classroom use.
  • End alarms can be set to ring only once, and sounds are adjustable to reduce annoyance.
  • Great value with a one-time purchase and a simple, uncluttered UX.
Cons
  • Pricing model relies on a paid upgrade after limited free uses, which many users find frustrating or surprising.
  • Some users report mischarges or inflated fees after the initial purchase.
  • Limited timer intervals (no 30-second or other sub-minute options) reduce flexibility for short tasks.
  • Notable CPU usage on some hardware (high resource consumption) can impact performance.

I think these visual “time timer” systems are usually marketed towards children, but as an adult, I find that time blindness can get the better of me pretty often, and this simple visual tool is a great way for me to keep track of time throughout my day. It was definitely worth the one-time purchase. I like how the visual clock stays on my screen even when I navigate to another window, so I can always quickly glance at it. I like that I can change the timer’s alarm sound to ring only once so it’s not super annoying. I like that I can customize the look and size of the clock face. All around, I can tell that the developer really took serious consideration into the UX of this tool and kept it simple and functional. I love this thing; big thank you to the developer 🙏🏽.

Does exactly what you need it to do. I like that it’s color customizable and you can have multiple saved timers for different types of tasks or moods. Can also change the end sound. This works for encouraging my productivity without allowing myself to ignore it.
